This comprehensive observership program offers immersive, practical learning in the fundamentals and advanced applications of neurophysiology. Participants will gain supervised clinical experience and knowledge of key diagnostic techniques including NCV, EEG, EMG, RLST, and Video EEG, as well as exposure to additional essential neurophysiological evaluations.

What You Will Learn
Week 1: Core Concepts & Introduction to Neurodiagnostics
- Overview of clinical neurophysiology
- Neuroanatomy and neurophysiology relevant to diagnostic procedures
- Nerve Conduction Studies (NCV): sensory, motor, F-wave, H-reflex
- EEG basics: 10–20 electrode system, electrode placement, impedance checks
- Observation: NCV & basic EEG setup
Week 2: Intermediate Techniques
- EMG (Electromyography): insertion activity, spontaneous activity, motor unit analysis
- EEG Interpretation: identifying epileptiform discharges, slowing, and artifacts
- Repetitive Nerve Stimulation Test (RLST): application in neuromuscular junction disorders
- Autonomic Function Testing – introduction and clinical relevance
- Case-based discussion: peripheral neuropathy and myopathy
Week 3: Advanced Modalities
- Video EEG Monitoring: seizure classification, ictal patterns, patient prep
- Event-related potentials (VEP, BAEP, SSEP) – basics & interpretation
- Polysomnography overview (for sleep-related neurophysiology exposure)
- Hands-on practice: EEG reading sessions, artifact rejection
- Observation: 3–5 VEEG sessions and RLST procedures
Week 4: Clinical Integration & Report Writing
- Interpretation workshop: EEG, EMG, NCV, RLST correlation
- How to write effective neurophysiological reports
- Case presentations by participants
- Feedback, discussion & Q&A session
- Final assessment (optional quiz + feedback form)
